Once a price is agreed upon for the commission, it’s time to decide how payments are going to take place. Most commissioners are willing to work with the customer to set up a payment plan that will work for everyone. Most do half of the price at the beginning of the commission to use the money to purchase materials for the costume, and then do the other half upon completion. I also know that breaking it down into 3 or 4 payments works well too. It really depends upon the price and what a person is willing to pay over time and if that will work for the commissioner to work off of.
Just remember, be polite, keep in constant communication, and you’d be surprised at well everyone’s willing to work together. <3
